World Day of Prayer for Vocations – April 22, 2018

22 Apr 2018 | 12:00 am - 11:00 pm

World Day of Prayer for Vocations will be observed in 2018 on April 22, 2018

The purpose of this day is to publicly fulfill the Lord’s instruction to, “Pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest” (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2). As a climax to a prayer that is continually offered throughout the Church, it affirms the primacy of faith and grace in all that concerns vocations to the priesthood and to the consecrated life.

“Becoming a priest or a man or woman religious is not primarily our own decision…. Rather it is the response to a call and to a call of love.”

—Pope Francis, Address to Seminarians and Novices, July 6, 2013
